Following a year full of illness and death, many of us have carried the weight of numerous losses. If we have been lucky enough not to lose someone from COVID-19, all of us who love will eventually experience grief. Grief comes with so many unexpected emotions and complicated thoughts. Even though it is the most common human experience, we often feel the most alone as we journey through it.

Those of us who love books know what a comfort they can be during times of struggling and healing. Here are some books, both fiction and nonfiction, that offer insightful, beautiful and comforting observations about living on when our loved ones have died.
